Are they scared we’d somehow invent Ultron?

Because government slowing down looks like losing to China, and that’s a political nonstarter regardless of the safety argument. Trump’s framing isn’t about Ultron, it’s about not losing.

Every “we must go faster or lose” argument in history eventually got used to justify skipping safety work. Nuclear, finance, social media, now this. Pattern’s not subtle anymore.
