A data center drained 30M gallons of water??

I just read about a data center that secretly drained like 30 million gallons of water and somehow didn’t even pay properly at first.

How does something that big just slip through systems like that?? Meanwhile communities are being told to conserve water like it’s life or death.

The most annoying part is the imbalance. Regular people get restrictions, warnings, pressure cuts… but huge tech infrastructure is out here operating like nothing applies to them.

And then the excuse is always β€œerror” or β€œsystems issue.” At some point it stops sounding like a mistake and starts sounding like negligence dressed up as corporate language.

Honestly this is the kind of thing that makes you question how these systems even get regulated in the first place.
