Strategic Refocus
Parent company IAC decided to discontinue the search business to sharpen its strategic focus on other priorities. The company acknowledged that Ask.com could not compete effectively with Google's dominance in the search market, a reality IAC chairman Barry Diller had admitted as far back as 2010.
