He alleged persistent intimidation and harassment by the current administration. The presidency has rejected the claim and accused him of playing politics. Whether you support Obi or not, should opposition politicians in Nigeria be worried about their safety, or is this simply campaign rhetoric ahead of 2027?
Obi is just trying to gain public sympathy. Every election cycle, politicians make dramatic statements to keep themselves in the headlines. If there was real evidence of a threat, he should present it to security agencies instead of making media rounds.
Who tf are you?? If a major opposition candidate feels unsafe enough to say it publicly, it shouldn't be dismissed outright. At the very least, the allegations deserve to be investigated rather than ridiculed.
Nigerian politics has always been tense. We have lost politicians before under suspicious circumstances, so I don't blame Obi for speaking out. Democracy only works when opposition candidates can campaign without fearing for their lives.
This is why Nigeria needs stronger institutions instead of stronger politicians. Today it's Obi, tomorrow it could be someone from APC or another party. Nobody should feel threatened for contesting an election.

That's the bigger issue. Strong institutions protect everyone, not just those currently in power. Elections should be contests of ideas, not courage.
I don't believe him. If his life was truly in danger, he wouldn't be holding rallies and interviews across the country.
