Do you think this takeover will finally lead to better prices, better content, and more innovation for DStv users, or is it just a change in ownership with little benefit for ordinary subscribers?
Nothing is going to change. DStv has increased prices for years while losing customers to Netflix and YouTube. A new owner doesn't automatically mean they'll suddenly care about affordability.
That's a fair concern fr. Ultimately, subscribers will judge Canal+ by what changes on their monthly bill and the quality of content, not by press releases.
This could actually be good for African entertainment. Canal+ has deep pockets and experience in media. If they invest more in local productions, African creators could benefit.
