Since President Tinubu signed the N70,000 national minimum wage into law in July 2024, states have moved at vastly different speeds in implementing it, creating a fragmented picture across Nigeria. While Imo State leads with N104,000 and several others like Ebonyi, Lagos, and Rivers have gone above N80,000, many states remain at the federal benchmark or below, with a few still struggling to fully roll it out. The wage review cycle was shortened from five years to three, yet implementation tells a mixed story.
