Paystack has launched Paystack Index, an experimental product that lets Al agents complete purchases and everyday transactions on a user's behalf. Instead of opening multiple apps, you could simply ask an Al to buy airtime, order food, or send money, and it handles the checkout while you approve the payment. It's an early bet on what many are calling "agentic commerce."
The technology sounds exciting, but it also raises a question.
If Al starts shopping for us, comparing prices, and making payments, how much of our buying decisions will still be ours?
Convenience is great, but are we ready to trust Al with our wallets?
