JavaScript on the backend is a hack that stuck. It was built in 10 days for form validation in a browser, and now we’re running payment systems on it. No real type safety without bolting on TypeScript, a single-threaded event loop that chokes on CPU-heavy work, and node_modules as a supply-chain risk. Meanwhile Go, Rust, and even Python were actually designed for servers.

Agreed like mad oh. Node’s big pitch is one language for everything, but that’s really just a shortcut. It struggles with heavy computation, its packages are a security headache, and tools like Go, Rust, Java, and Python were built for servers from the start. Node is fine for small projects, but ‘it’s what we already knew’ isn’t a good reason to build on it
Bro casually snuck in Python
