Has anyone else noticed there are way fewer Java jobs than there used to be?

A few years ago, Java and Spring Boot felt like guaranteed career paths. Now it seems every other job wants Python, Go, AI experience, or a full stack of cloud and DevOps tools on top of Java. Even where Java is still widely used, companies appear to be hiring more selectively and posting fewer roles than before. Industry data and hiring reports suggest Java's share of new job postings has declined while employers increasingly prioritize AI, cloud, and modern infrastructure skills.

I'm not saying Java is dead. Banks, large enterprises, and plenty of backend systems still rely on it. But it definitely feels like the days of learning Java alone and expecting recruiters to flood your inbox are over. Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just the current hiring slowdown affecting every tech stack?

I think it's the overall tech market. Even React and Node developers are complaining about fewer jobs. Companies just aren't hiring like they were in 2021 and 2022.

True, the boom years set unrealistic expectations. I just feel Java openings have become noticeably harder to find compared to a few years ago.
