A sitting governor was once abducted by police officers acting on the orders of a political godfather. Before the election, there was an understanding between both of them. After the governor got into office, he refused to hand over control of the state the way the godfather expected. So police officers stormed the government house, picked him up, and tried to force him to sign a resignation letter. For a few hours, a sitting governor had effectively been removed from office. Public outrage and pressure from institutions forced a reversal, and he was released.
