A former chairman of the Airports Development Company (ADC) has publicly supported allegations against Air Peace, Nigeria's largest airline. The specific accusations involve tax evasion claims reportedly brought by the Lagos State Government against the airline's chairman, Allen Onyema, and vice chairman, Alice Onyema.
The former ADC chairman agreed with the position that Air Peace and its leaders have not properly met their tax obligations. This support adds weight to the ongoing controversy surrounding the airline.
However, Air Peace has strongly denied all allegations. The airline stated that neither the company nor its leaders have received any official court summons or notification about any tax lawsuit. Air Peace described the claims as "surprising and shocking" and maintained that all its tax obligations are fully paid and up to date in accordance with Nigerian law
The airline also expressed willingness to engage with the Lagos State Government to resolve any potential discrepancies if they exist
