Nigerians don’t have much protest culture, why is that? A teacher was beheaded and we’ve moved on. SMH 🤦🏿‍♂️

Here’s the version without em dashes:

To this day, no one has told Nigerians who gave the order for troops to vacate that school in Kebbi State before those girls were kidnapped. The Defence Minister promised to investigate and name the person responsible, he never did. And Nigerians have already moved on.

Right now, hundreds of women and children are sitting in a kidnapper’s den in Kwara State, have been for months. Forgotten. Priests are being held captive in Kaduna as we speak. Also forgotten. The news cycle moves, the outrage evaporates, and within 48 hours it’s like none of it ever happened.

This is exactly why Nigerian politicians operate without fear. They’ve done the math: no matter how catastrophic the failure, no matter how many lives are lost or destroyed, the public will reset. The anger has a two-day half-life. So why fix anything???
